Help & FAQ

Stuck? Let’s get you unstuck.

Setting up a device

Every device gets its own setup link.

All setup starts from your dashboard: add a device, and Everloom gives that device its own link with steps written for that exact phone, tablet, or computer. Most devices take two to three minutes.

iPhone, iPad & Mac

Coverage is a small configuration profile. Apple walks you through installing it.

  1. Open the setup link Everloom sends to that device.
  2. Download the profile, then approve it in Settings (Apple shows you exactly where).
  3. Everloom confirms on your dashboard when the device checks in.

Android

Coverage is a built-in Android setting called Private DNS. No app to install.

  1. Open the setup link on the phone or tablet.
  2. Copy the hostname, then paste it into Settings under Private DNS.
  3. Everloom confirms on your dashboard when the device checks in.

Windows

Coverage is a small setup file you run once. Windows will ask you to approve it.

  1. Download the setup file from the device’s setup link.
  2. Right-click it and choose “Run with PowerShell”, then approve the admin prompt.
  3. You also get a matching “restore internet” file. Keep both.

Home Wi-Fi (optional)

One router change covers the TVs, consoles, and everything else at home.

  1. Your dashboard shows the exact values for your router or provider app.
  2. Some ISP routers lock this setting. Your per-device coverage is not affected.
  3. Stuck? Send the helper instructions to whoever manages your Wi-Fi.

A device showing “waiting” on your dashboard usually just hasn’t used the internet since setup. Open any website on it and check again. Still stuck after that? Email us with the device type and we’ll walk through it together.

Travel & public Wi-Fi

Hotel Wi-Fi won’t load? That’s what Internet Rescue is for.

Some public networks need their sign-in page before protected DNS can work. Internet Rescue helps you get online first, then turn protection back on. You'll find Internet Rescue inside Everloom: on the coverage setup page, on each device's setup page, and on the device cards on your dashboard.

Why would Wi-Fi connect but the internet not load?

Airline, hotel, school, workplace, and some public Wi-Fi networks use a sign-in page before they allow normal internet. Protected DNS can keep that page from appearing because the network expects its own DNS first.

Did Everloom break my internet?

No. The network is asking for a sign-in step or blocking protected DNS. Internet Rescue restores normal DNS long enough to connect, then helps you turn protection back on.

Should I leave protection off?

Only while that network blocks protected DNS. After the sign-in page works, try turning protection back on. If the network stops working again, leave protection paused until you leave that Wi-Fi.

Will Everloom still protect cellular data?

Yes, when the device setup is on and the cellular network allows protected DNS. Internet Rescue is mainly for Wi-Fi networks that require their own sign-in page.

Can Everloom pause this automatically?

Not from the web app today. Apple, Android, and Windows keep these DNS settings at the device operating-system level. A future native helper could support true one-tap pause and resume.

What does “Paused for travel” mean?

It means you told Everloom you temporarily paused protection on the device. It is a reminder and status marker, not proof that Everloom remotely changed the device settings.

What should I do if I am stuck right now?

Use the pause or restore steps for this device, reconnect to the Wi-Fi, and open the network sign-in page. A plain page like neverssl.com can also help trigger captive portals.

Flying or staying somewhere with a Wi-Fi sign-in page? Save these steps before you go. If a network ever blocks protected DNS, you may not be able to open this page until you are back online.

Billing & cancellation

Your subscription, your call.

Everything billing-related is self-serve from your dashboard. You never have to call anyone to cancel.

How do I cancel?

From your dashboard, open Manage subscription. That takes you to your secure billing portal, where canceling is two clicks. No phone call, no chat queue, no retention offers.

Will I be charged during the free trial?

No. Your trial is free for its full length, and if you cancel before it ends you are never charged. Your trial end date is shown on your dashboard.

How do I update my card?

Same place: dashboard, then Manage subscription. The billing portal lets you change your payment method any time.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email support@everloom.family from your account email and we will delete your account and the family data we hold. Removing coverage from your devices is separate and takes about a minute per device; see the removal guide below.
